Her work is included in a number of private collections. Connie's artwork investigates a variety of materials in both two and three dimensions with a preference for work in ceramics, acrylic, and mixed media.
"In mixed media work, I repurpose materials and sew them into layers of metal mesh I ask viewers to notice the parallel between the aluminum screen and the screens of our devices: both hold an image captive within their small squares. Likewise, both keep us at bay from a satisfying tactile experience."
"In art, the visual description of space drawn on a flat surface conforms to a set of standards based on a fixed viewpoint, while the depiction of an object in three-dimensions relies on the observation and manipulation of space from multiple points of view. I am interested in what can happen when these two methods of depiction bump into and overlap one another.”
Ceramic work investigates the place where sculpture and drawing overlap. Memories of play as a child inside with tin toys or outside in the yard, manage to convey a sense of movement and playfulness that rightfully parallels her exploration of visual depiction.
